简介 Short Description

WHERE am I now and where AM I GOING? Biography Work in The Light Of Anthroposophy

Biographical work is a method of looking at life chronologically. For that purpose, it divides life into seven year segments and describes the general purpose of each seven year period for your life. In biographical work we look at our past. While you read the description of each seven year period you can already feel how an inner motion begins to stir: Can I recognise myself here? What do I understand about myself better now? Where did my life personally take a completely different route?

序言

Introduction - In Search of Your Life's Thread

Do you have an important decision ahead of you and you want to give your life a new direction? Are you in the middle of a crisis and wonder if life has a meaning and how you got into this dark spot in the first place? Or do you simply want to better understand the people around you? Any of those reasons could be the starting point for your interest in biographical work.

In this book I use the image of life as a house. I want to demonstrate to you that you are the architect when it comes to refurbishing the house you have already got, when it comes to building necessary extensions - or a completely new house! After all, you want it to become your very own, individual house, and not some boring terraced house, don't you? Our parents co-created the ground floor for us, and the three rooms on the ground floor are: childhood, school life and adolescence. But on the carpet of causes and events from this time, we have the task and possibility to find our own thread. There is a staircase leading up from the ground floor to the first floor where three aspects of the soul have their rooms:

1.the sentient soul (connected with sensory impressions and how we process them emotionally),

2. the mind soul (connected with logical thinking, memory and Ego consciousness) and

3. the consciousness soul (connected with the awareness of being an independent human individual).

How old are you now? Whether you are stuck in mid-life crisis or question the meaning of life, biographical work will in any case change the currently one-sided and often negative views our society holds about growing older. Biographical work will bring you new energy and enthusiasm when you start to realise that only now, in the middle of your life, you have all the necessary building materials at your disposal in order to finish your house by building a unique loft that contains the realisation of your life's purpose.

Finding Your Life's Thread

Biographical work is a method of looking at life chronologically. For that purpose, it divides life into seven year segments and describes the general purpose of each seven year period for your life. In biographical work we look at our past. While you read the description of each seven year period you can already feel how an inner motion begins to stir: Can I recognise myself here? What do I understand about myself better now? Where did my life personally take a completely different route?

From long years of experience with individual clients, from the classes I taught, from my further training and from occupying myself with my own biography I have come to the realisation that biographical work can be personally enriching for anyone with an interest in self-development. In order to demonstrate that to you - and also to jog your memory – I will give you many anecdotes (in italics) from my life or from the lives of my clients which are all true stories, although their names have been changed. After a while you will develop a feeling for life in general and for your own biography in particular. The laws I am going to introduce will give you orientation, security and a first feeling of meaningfulness: “All is well the way it went.” Hold onto that thought, and soon things that have become stagnant inside can begin to flow again. Now you can tap into the source of your power! Like a river that is held in its bed yet at the same time flows freely, you can now trust yourself to take your development into your own hands in a much freer way. I hope that you will believe in yourself anew, in your Self and, in your mission! That's what I wish for you with all my heart.

Yours,

Susanne Hofmeister
